Art Shows

We will be participating in two art shows for Great Basin College in the next month. The Elko campus always has a spring show and we have sent off some of our work from our last two classes. We are both especially proud of our frogs and floral beads, and those are part of what we sent. They will be on display May 4-15. Locally, all the GBC art classes have been invited to display their work starting May 22 at the Winnemucca Fine Arts Gallery. Stay tuned for pictures.

Blogging Is Hard Work

Wow! this blogging thing is hard work. Techno-savvy folks will not understand, but it took me all day to figure out how to make my photo album public so I could add them as a slide-show.

Enjoy the pictures. We will have some of our pieces at It's All About You Day Spa in Winnemucca for sale. If you see something you like on this blog, you can always contact me or Courtney here. Just drop us a line. Our latest creations will be traveling back to Elko for the spring art show at Great Basin College in May.

And So It Begins

Since we all seem to be blogging these days, and we need a place for our newly hatched adventure, here we are! As most of my family knows, my beading buddy Courtney, and I have been lampworking beads and have started selling some of our jewelry pieces. We selected "Beads By Fire" as our working name, and I found it to be a good sign that Beads by Fire was available for a blog name. Here are our latest creations from our most recent class in Elko last weekend. Courtney's beads are on top, mine are the bottom string.

Those of you who follow the Friday Friends Picture Project will recognize these pictures from what I've posted there. This newly found creative outlet has hooked us both and we can hardly wait to see what happens next.
