It's been a while!<div><br /><div><br /><div><br /><div><br /><div><br /><div><br /><div><br /><div>I was just reading my friend's blog "Friday Friends" about our recent birding trip and realized that I have not posted in forever. I did not take many pictures during our trip because there were two friends with much larger cameras than mine and so I deferred to them.</div><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 150px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5608926869581405186" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YSee93kU3Ck/TdbpRUCLHAI/AAAAAAAAAsg/sV4sHTVbyB4/s200/MitzDebbieBigLenses.JPG" /></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>This is the view of Carson Lakes from one of the towers - part of our bird tours. So, so pretty and with all the water we got to see some pretty cool birds. (Look at Friday Friends for pictures of the birds!) </div><br /><br /><div></div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 197px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 176px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5608925790214107218" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nPLc1aLPExU/TdboSfE9MFI/AAAAAAAAAsU/HXtXWQNVbVw/s200/CarsonLakesFromTowerSat2011.JPG" /> I was talking to may daughter the other day on our way to school and we passed my beading friend Courtney, then we passed my birding friend Mitzi and I told Nik: "To make this day complete, I need to see my book friend, Debbie." I did indeed see Debbie later that night and was delighted to realize that all my favorite things start with the letter B. Birds, Beads, Book and lots of friends to share them with! Of course, now Debbie is also a bird nerd and Mitzi is part of our book club, so there is some over-lapping. I received my copy of "The Big Year" and as soon as I have it read, it will start making the rounds to Debbie and Mitzi. I learned about the Big Year watching Steve Martin on the Ellen show. The movies sounds like it will be a hoot!!<br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><div>Here are the beads we made in Elko in April that are still residing in Elko at the GBC Art Show. The Elko campus always has a spring show and we have sent off some of our work from our last two classes. We are both especially proud of our frogs and floral beads, and those are part of what we sent. They will be on display May 4-15. Locally, all the GBC art classes have been invited to display their work starting May 22 at the Winnemucca Fine Arts Gallery. Stay tuned for pictures.</div><div> </div><div> </div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332101867245907666" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 334px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 273px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_QwRrRcWMC3I/Sf9uZcdjrtI/AAAAAAAAAY0/3QuJT3SarZw/s200/WFAG.jpg" border="0" /><br /><div></div>Jolinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02419680529175001830noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5475813721501205604.post-32092870366371702022009-03-31T11:44:00.001-07:002009-03-31T11:52:42.360-07:00Blogging Is Hard WorkWow! this blogging thing is hard work. Techno-savvy folks will not understand, but it took me all day to figure out how to make my photo album public so I could add them as a slide-show. <br /><br />Enjoy the pictures. We will have some of our pieces at It's All About You Day Spa in Winnemucca for sale. If you see something you like on this blog, you can always contact me or Courtney here. Just drop us a line. Our latest creations will be traveling back to Elko for the spring art show at Great Basin College in May.Jolinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02419680529175001830noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5475813721501205604.post-74440035374897595852009-03-27T13:36:00.000-07:002009-03-27T13:51:03.591-07:00And So It Begins<div><div>Since we all seem to be blogging these days, and we need a place for our newly hatched adventure, here we are! As most of my family knows, my beading buddy Courtney, and I have been lampworking beads and have started selling some of our jewelry pieces. We selected "Beads By Fire" as our working name, and I found it to be a good sign that Beads by Fire was available for a blog name. Here are our latest creations from our most recent class in Elko last weekend. Courtney's beads are on top, mine are the bottom string.</div><div> </div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317971143950645090" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 275px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QwRrRcWMC3I/Sc06lGD0t2I/AAAAAAAAAQc/v0dSwBEogcE/s320/jolinacourtneybeads.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317971144231722946" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 247px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_QwRrRcWMC3I/Sc06lHG1n8I/AAAAAAAAAQk/xxF-gqnwPMY/s320/beadmakers3sml.jpg" border="0" /></div></div><br /><p>Those of you who follow the Friday Friends Picture Project will recognize these pictures from what I've posted there. This newly found creative outlet has hooked us both and we can hardly wait to see what happens next. </p>Jolinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02419680529175001830noreply@blogger.com2
